Shabbat Shalom!

As we welcome Shabbat and step into the joy of Adar, we feel the spirit of Purim drawing near, a season that reminds us to choose happiness, lift one another up, and celebrate the light we create together. In a world that can feel heavy, our music, our laughter, and our community become acts of courage and hope.

This month is full, full of song, full of connection, and full of moments we won’t want to miss. We are so grateful for the generous support already pouring in for our April 15th Kravis Center concert, a milestone that will showcase the heart and soul of our community on a grand stage.

DO NOT MISS our first full-band musical evening on March 27th at 6pm! This will be an evening that to be remembered followed by a celebratory champagne toast! Bring your blanket, a snack, your instrument and join us on the lawn at Downtown at the Gardens. We will sing, dance, and play with new and old friends! The lawn is located right outside the CMX Movie Theater. All are welcome!!

Rabbi Feivel’s Shabbat Message:

This week’s Torah portion, Tetzaveh, describes the special clothing of the High Priest.
Among the gold, jewels, and carefully woven fabrics, something quietly striking appears:
the names of the twelve tribes are engraved in two different places.

Once on his shoulders.
Once on his heart.

That detail invites a question:
What kind of relationship is this clothing trying to train?

There are times when carrying other people actually feels heavy.
They rely on you, need things from you, or don’t pull their weight.
If we’re not careful, responsibility quietly turns into resentment.
And there are times when love feels easy.
We feel generous and close.
But that warmth can blind us to what love still requires, especially hard conversations or follow-through.
The Torah assumes both situations are normal
and that both can go wrong.
So here’s a simple practice for the week:
When someone feels heavy on your shoulders, ask:
What can I do here without bitterness or keeping score? When someone sits comfortably in your heart, ask:
What hard responsibility or honest challenge might I be avoiding because this feels good?
